Michael Coren or selective amnesia

truther trash or lost marbles

The controversial media personality Michael Coren has been introduced on this blog before, attempting to lampoon 9/11 truthers, as part of the now defunct Sun News Network, and admirably defending the rights of a local street preacher.

It now appears the celebrated author and broadcaster may be losing his marbles.

In a recent opinion piece in the Toronto Star he referred to the rally at Dundas Square in support of Voices of the Nations a christian festival denied it’s annual permit, Coren writes:

… the demonstration was jarringly inappropriate. At one point a young woman in a combat jacket, a military uniform if you like, took the microphone and told the crowd to chant loudly after her, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” They robotically followed.

Faith Goldy rallies at Dundas Square

The “young woman in a combat jacket” that Michael Coren refers to is actually his longtime media colleague and regular co-host of The Arena on Sun News, Faith Goldy:

In the video from 2012 The War on Christmas with Michael Coren you’ll notice that Faith Goldy is wearing the same “combat jacket” wardrobe. The only change is that three years ago Michael Coren was considered a catholic working for the right-wing Sun media, today he’s converted to an anglican working for the left-wing Star paper. Curiously it might make some wonder is Michael Coren pulling a fast one? by recycling an old war-on-christmas routine and adapting it to a modern day character in denial. Remember:

The answer might surprise you.

Next time dress as a sailor or an air force pilot, whatever you want. Have a great christmas.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
